Body repair tool and equipment supplier Power-TEC was at the ABP Expo in Manchester, with its Nitrogen Plastic Welding system attracting particular interest.

 

Operations Manager Steve Bradbury explained that the use of nitrogen means the system provides a very convenient, safe and highly durable means of welding plastics. This allows a wide variety of plastic parts to be repaired rather than replaced, significantly cutting repair cost. He commented, "This system makes a stronger repair than any two-part epoxy or hot air weld. The plastics are melted together to form the strongest possible weld and the system is compatible with almost all types of plastic used on cars.”
