Double European Rallycross Champion Derek Tohill and the PFCRX team were robbed of a semi-final start in the fourth round of the FIA European Rallycross Championship at Barcelona in Spain  after being pushed into a wall in the forth qualifier by another competitor. This brought a premature end to their weekend and caused significant damage to the Ford Fiesta RX.

After some changes to the set up the OlsbergsMSE-built Supercar, was ninth overall and inside the top 12 at the end of day one. However, heavy contact heading into the first corner in Q3 damaged the Fiesta’s steering and suspension, meaning Derek had to work hard to make it to the finish of the race. The car was then pushed into the wall on the outside of the first corner in Q4 by another competitor after a good start.

The Irish team now face a race to repair the car for the final round of the FIA European Rallycross Championship at the Bikernieki Circuit on the outskirts of Latvia’s capital city Riga, where Tohill tested earlier this season in preparation for the event on the brand-new circuit.
