Lighting specialist Philips has introduced a new generation of its RacingVision headlamp, the RacingVision GT200, which it says is up to 200% brighter than the industry standard, making it the most powerful road-legal halogen bulb yet produced.

Philips says that the RacingVision GT200 delivers the super-bright visibility of a rally bulb in a format that can be used on public roads. As such the new bulb’s performance makes driving even safer than its predecessor, giving an additional safety distance of up to 80 meters with the area of the road it illuminates on dipped beam compared to the industry standard bulb. It lets drivers see more of the road ahead, spotting potential hazards sooner, reacting faster and positioning the car more accurately, adding up to a safer, more satisfying driving experience.

RacingVision GT200 also boasts excellent lifetime for a bulb with such performance. Users can expect as much as 250 hours for the H7 variant, rising to up to 400 hours for the RacingVision GT200 H4.

These advances are made possible thanks to a high luminance filament and a new coating on the glass. As with every Philips bulb, it is produced to extremely high standards, with precision welding and precise filament alignment. The Racing Vision GT200 also features new Diamond Precision Quartz glass, which offers increased translucency for a brighter light on the road. As with the Quartz glass long-used on Philips Automotive headlamp bulbs, it helps protect the headlamp optic from UV damage. The new Diamond Precision Quartz also has increased pressure and shock resistance properties.

Philips RacingVision GT200 is compatible with car models of major brands, such as Audi, BMW, Ford, GM, Toyota, Volkswagen and more. Philips RacingVision GT200 is available in the most common headlight bulb types, H4 and H7.
