Renowned for creating artwork using radio-controlled cars, Ian Cook, better known as POPBANGCOLOUR, has joined forces with global battery manufacturer GS Yuasa to become their latest brand ambassador. The partnership with see Ian representing the Japanese battery brand with Yuasa’s distinctive branding applied to the Continuous Car Mobile Studio as well as regular competitions to win exclusive POPBANGCOLOUR merchandise.

Established in 2007, POPBANGCOLOUR has a strong history of working with world-leading brands including Citroen, Nissan and Jaguar Land Rover for whom GS Yuasa are an OE battery supplier. Widely renowned throughout the industry for his colourful canvasses – POPBANGCOLOUR ventured into creating Continuous Car drawings, created with just one single line, as a series of Instagram Live interviews throughout lockdown.

Now massing over 1,400 drawings, the Continuous Car catalogue includes a number of Yuasa-branded machinery including the Volkswagen Polo R5 driven to the British Rally title in 2021 as well as the 2020 Team Dynamics-run Halfords Yuasa Racing Honda Civic Type R.

A familiar face at events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Silverstone Classic, Shelsley Walsh and numerous British Touring Car Championship and British Superbike Championship rounds, Ian will act as a brand ambassador for the leading global battery manufacturer. Yuasa branding will also appear on the artist’s clothing and in promotional materials used at such events.

The POPBANGCOLOUR Continuous Car Mobile Studio – a modified Chevrolet Spark – used at events across the country, has been powered by two Yuasa-branded batteries since its creation in late 2020. Reliable starting power is delivered by a Yuasa YBX3054 while power for the studio’s lighting, cameras and associated chargers is taken care of by a Yuasa YBX Active L36-AGM battery.

To celebrate the new partnership, GS Yuasa are giving away three framed prints of the Yuasa-branded 2021 British Rally Championship winning Volkswagen Polo R5. To be in with the chance of winning, simply follow @GSYuasaUK on social media and like their pinned post.
