The vast majority of purchasing officers in the public sector and vehicle fleet owners have no idea where the parts fitted in the vehicles they operate come from. They also have no idea how easy it could be for them to achieve the economies demanded by their department’s austerity measures, without sacrificing on quality.
The question is what can the Wholesale Distributors do to inform and educate them of the origin and quality of the replacement parts available to them, without compromising on quality or affecting warranty, while giving them the opportunity to make even greater savings.
It can be done by taking the ‘OE via Independent Supply’ message directly to the fleet managers and purchasing managers, many of which are committed to savings within their departments.
For example the brakes on many cars are identifiable as Bosch, Jurid, Bendix, etc. These aftermarket brands are well represented in our marketplace, the same applies to spark and glow plugs, filtration, clutches, suspension and so on.
