The 2014 Motorsport Ireland National Rallycross Championship reaches its climax on Sunday November 23rd at Mondello Park.
The six round series heads for its final event of 2014 with four drivers still in contention for the overall title.
Declan Kelly with his Ford Fiesta Supercar leads the way with 72 points ahead of Modified Class driver Pearse Browne in his BMW Compact. Kelly has a nine point lead but with twenty points on offer to the Superfinal winner Browne, who has finished ahead of Kelly twice this year, still has a strong chance of lifting the title. Having missed the first two Superfinals Thomas O'Rafferty with his four wheel drive fiesta has shot back into contention over the last three events with a hat-trick of wins. O'Rafferty would need to win the event with Kelly failing to make the final to lift the title but in the competitive world of Rallycross anything can happen. The final driver with a mathematical chance of winning is KIeran Curran but the Vauxhall Nova driver would need the three drivers ahead of him to hit trouble to have a realistic chance of winning.
The timetable for Sunday Nov 23rd will be made up of four heats for cars in the Junior Rallycross, Rallycar, Stockhatch, Honda Civic RX, Modified and Supercar divisions, followed by finals for each Division and the Superfinal for the fastest eight drivers overall, where the 2014 Irish Rallycross Championship will be decided.
Admission to the event is just €12.50 for adults with under sixteen's admitted free of charge. Practice starts at 9.15 am with the first heat starting at 10 am.
