Big powerful impact wrenches certainly have their uses around any workshop, but often an automotive technician is looking for a tool that is smaller and lighter for use in difficult to access areas, or something with a more delicate touch. Two of the latest tools from Chicago Pneumatic can provide the answers and have recently been put through their paces by Honda performance specialists Dream Automotive.
Technician Ben Enter used the CP7737 Angle Impact Wrench for a difficult, limited access job on a Honda Civic Type R. He said, "On these front wheel drive cars the space available to work in when replacing the drive shaft bearings is very limited and usually requires a 14mm spanner, which can be very time consuming. The CP7737 fitted in the space making the task much quicker and easier. We also found the tool was great for lots of other jobs such as front engine mounts and torsion mounts.”
The workshop team at Dream Automotive also often require smaller lightweight tools for certain delicate jobs and this is where the CP7732C, a small composite and compact pistol wrench came in to its own. Ben says, "The teasing trigger proved ideal on delicate Allen bolts and avoided stripping the heads.”
The CP7732C is a new generation "stubby” ultra-lightweight ½” impact wrench. A 30% weight saving over its predecessor means it is easier to handle and allows technicians to work fatigue free in difficult-to-access areas, getting jobs done quickly and efficiently. It is especially well suited for use inside the vehicle and engine compartment and for jobs on oil pans, seat bolts and body panels where tight spaces restrict the movement of conventional tools.
The CP7737 Angle Impact Wrench and CP7732C stubby ultra-lightweight ½” impact wrench are both ergonomically designed for user comfort and are built to withstand any tough workshop environment, providing long lasting trouble free service life. They are now available from Chicago Pneumatic stockists.
