Cronin tackles Scottish round of the British Rally Championship

Hankook Tire's Keith Cronin will resume his British Rally Championship challenge on Saturday's Grampian Rally, based at Milton of Crathes in Aberdeenshire.

The event has not previously featured in the series and will be new to many of the contenders, including Keith, who will again be partnered by co-driver, Mikie Galvin, in the NPL Rally Hire & Preparation-tended Ford Fiesta Rally 2.

Cronin outlined his hopes for the event while travelling to Scotland.  "We didn't have the smoothest of starts on the last round in Wales, so I'm hoping to get some extra points on the board this time out.  I haven't done the Grampian before but I've had a look at the DVD of the stages, there seems to be a good mix, some of it is twisty and technical, there are other parts which could be muddy and slippy if it's wet.  The Fetteresso stage looks fast and flowing.  We've been doing some work over the past few weeks, our development programme with Hankook has progressed well, and I'm looking forward to getting out on Saturday".

The Hankook Ford Fiesta is seeded at number six, in a competitive field which includes current championship leader, Matt Edwards, his nearest challenger, Rhys Yates, and Sam Moffett, winner of the opening round at Oulton Park.

The Grampian Rally will get under way just after 9am, with a ceremonial start in Banchory.  Six stages, totalling 44 miles/70 kilometes await the field during the course of the day, with the Finish celebrations due to take place at Milton of Crathes just before 5pm.  Covid-related restrictions have forced the organisers to prevent spectators from accessing the stages or service area, but there will be live updates from selected stage finishes on facebook.com/brcrally, and the continually updated results can be viewed in real-time at rallies.info.
