SATA shines in Frankfurt

As ever SATA was at the centre of attention at the entrance to the refinish hall at Automechanika with a large and extreme busy stand. The German paint and bodyshop equipment specialist used the show to introduce a number of exciting new initiatives including the new jet X premium spray gun.

The new gun has an eye catching design in matt black with red detailing. It features very innovative nozzle technology which sets new standards in atomisation. The labyrinth airflow system invented by SATA, guides the air in the nozzle so that it exits free of turbulence and pulsation. This enables the painter to achieve exceptionally fine and homogeneous atomisation and a new level of surface finish quality, as well as significant material savings. The spray pattern remains absolutely uniform over its entire height and has clearly defined fade-out zones.

The digital unit on the top model jet X DIGITAL pro version is another stand-out feature. The adam X pro offers a number of functions that had never been seen on a spray gun, such as showing the inlet flow pressure. It also displays any deviations from the target pressure that has been set. If this deviation exceeds 0.2 bar, an optical alarm is triggered. As well as this it provides information on the ambient temperature and battery status. The digital unit also keeps precise records of operating hours, painting time and the number of trigger pulls. This data can be transferred to a digital dashboard on a PC or smartphone, allowing detailed analysis of the painting process.

The jet X also has some other clever features, such as a trigger that can be removed quickly, without tools, plus an integrated spanner for removing the paint nozzle.

The second major new product at the SATA stand was LCS, a new liner cup system. This fits all SATA spray guns with a QCC cup connection, without an adapter. This improves the weight and centre of gravity of the spray gun and makes cleaning easier. It also offers high-quality, particle-free strainers that are clicked into place, while there is also quadruple bayonet locking system and detailed scale.

Also new to the SATA range are two new PPE items, air star F and a newly designed painter’s suit. The air star F is a half mask with filter. It is lighter than its predecessor, offers a larger field of view and is even more comfortable to wear. The filters can now be clicked in quickly and easily. The new suit comes in black and offers great comfort and freedom of movement with numerous adjustment options.
