Ring will be holding Commercial Vehicle Bulb Workshops at the upcoming CV show in Birmingham.  The purpose of the workshops is to equip people involved with the repair and maintenance of vehicle fleets with knowledge on commercial vehicle bulbs, the cost savings possible by fitting the right bulbs and the importance of bulb quality.

A UK study by the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency shows that headlamp misalignment is the most common failure for HGV’s during official tests, accounting for over 30% of the failure rates. VOSA found that changing the bulb could lower the headlamp aim by 3% without interfering with the adjustment mechanism. The UK body were also concerned about the construction of bulbs, conformity of production to regulations and inferior products entering the market.

The Ring CV Show Workshops will give attendees live demonstrations on how superior filament technology can drastically improve beam alignment and how the construction of a bulb can differ, resulting in drastic differences in resistance to vibrations.

Ring says that having a bulb of superior build quality can provide substantial cost savings against vehicle downtime and maintenance costs and that overall running costs are improved simply by switching to a better bulb. With this in mind Ring will be presenting its TruckMasterHDLL bulbs to demonstrate how not all bulbs the same. The company will also be showcasing Xenon HID bulbs which in recent years have seen steady growth in the HGV market.

The workshops will be held on the Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th April during the CV Show. Each session will be 20 mins long with 10 mins for questions and answers, running from 11am- 3pm. These sessions will be by invite only so anyone interested can book by emailing Craig O’Neil at craig.oneil@ringautomotive.co.uk.

Ring will also be exhibiting at the show on Stand 5C118.
