Original equipment and aftermarket filter supplier Sogefi has received the Italian GiPA Excellence Trophy at Autopromotec 2015.

This was the setting for the thirteenth edition of the GiPA* Excellence Trophies, an important event that every two years gives prestigious awards to individuals and companies that have distinguished themselves in the automotive aftermarket sector. Sogefi won the GiPA Excellence Trophy in the category “Contribution to the Environment” for its efforts in effectively reconciling respect for the environment, technical content and sales efficacy. The coveted award, collected by Andrea Taschini, General Manager of the Aftermarket Business Unit at Sogefi, is the result of a CAWI (Computer Assisted Web Interviewing) survey, an internet survey conducted by GiPA with interviews of 10,000 Italian repairers and distributors in March and April 2015. The professionals involved named Sogefi as the company that most stands out for its contribution to the environment.

Concern for the environment has always been a key element of the Sogefi Group innovation strategy. Sogefi works in development of cutting-edge solutions to optimise the efficiency, effectiveness, weight and environmental compatibility of its products. It is these factors, supported by continuous investment in research and development, which led to the development of Sogefi products that were significantly smaller, lighter and more environmentally friendly, along with innovative packaging solutions with a lower environmental impact. This is the case of cabin air filters, for which Sogefi has introduced 100% recyclable packaging that, in addition to hermetically sealing the product, also offers complete protection against dust and moisture, optimises transportation costs and frees up more storage space, thanks to its lower weight and smaller footprint.

Collecting the award, Andrea Taschini commented, “We wanted to create an innovative material for a line of products - cabin air filters - which is growing strongly, is difficult to package and for which the box is often heavier and bulkier than the product itself. The introduction of this new material represents a radical change that has resulted in great advantages both in environmental and storage terms. This solution is so innovative that it has already been requested, by entities such as the car manufacturers to which we supply Original Equipment, for its introduction on other product lines. This award reflects the focus of Sogefi not only on the product but also on everything that revolves around it”.
