Spies Hecker is celebrating the success of Nico Rosberg, one of the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula OneTM Team drivers who clinched the 2016 FIA Formula OneTM World Drivers’ Championship last month.  As an Official Team Supplier, Spies Hecker, has been responsible for the paint of the high-impact, instantly-recognisable liveries on the team’s Silver Arrows for three years, including the Championship-winning 2016 Mercedes F1 W07 Hybrid car.

Andrew Moody, Head of Paint and Graphics at MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula OneTM Team said,  “It’s important, of course, that the race cars look great on the track and that our partners’ logos are displayed clearly. While Rosberg clocked up nearly 4,000 race miles across 1,202 laps during the 2016 season, the paint shop at the team’s Brackley headquarters in the UK, was also busy, painting more than 1,200 race car body work panels with Spies Hecker products.

Moody says, “It takes us up to 30 hours to repaint a front wing, and up to 40 hours for the chassis, so we don't have time to accept anything less than perfect. It’s great we can rely on Spies Hecker.”
