SsangYong Ireland, have been celebrating a brand victory as the Korando, SsangYong’s compact SUV, has been named Caravan Club Towcar of The Year in its price category. The company believes this will provide a further boost to growing sales in the Irish market.
Dealer Development Manager of SsangYong Motors Ireland, John Keogh, says that the victory has come at a brilliant time for the Irish arm of the marque. He comments, “As we’ve just entered the Irish car market, many Irish car buyers are looking to see how the range has been received in other markets. This award not only highlights one of the most impressive features of the Korando, its two tonne towing capability, it also sends out a strong message to Irish consumers that the SsangYong brand is being recognised as a leader in the UK, where the new range has been established. This, coupled with the five year warranty and road side assistance that is being offered across the entire Irish range, will do wonders to strengthen the brands’ presence in Ireland.”
The annual towing awards ceremony is particularly highly regarded among the agricultural, equestrian and travel community in the UK. Judges said about the Korando, “The vehicle pulled well through all the gears and gave a smooth ride. Stability at speed was good and it tackled the hill route with enthusiasm. A very economical vehicle, and a worthy class winner.”
SsangYong is being imported into Ireland by the Harris Group.
