Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG is launching the third generation of MEYLE-HD stabiliser links. When designing the first and second generation stabiliser links, the prime engineering objective has been to make the parts more durable. With the third generation, the parts have also become easier to install and remove. The ball pin features a 16mm wrench attachment, designed to increase repair comfort.

MEYLE offers reinforced HD stabiliser links to fit more than 10,000 vehicle applications. The parts have been
re-engineered to offer improved technical characteristics. So for example, the ball head diameter of MEYLE-HD stabiliser links was increased to 22 millimetres, resulting in a 50% larger ball surface, which improves load carrying capacity. The ball pin snaps into a clip-on plastic socket, made from wear-resistant polyoxymethylene plastic material (POM) which, thanks to its retaining latches, fits snugly into the steel housing. An additional snap ring is ultrasonically welded to the rear of the plastic socket, to further improve ball pin pull-out force.

Thanks to these features, the stabiliser link durability is significantly enhanced. This is confirmed by endurance tests performed at the Hamburg Helmut Schmidt University. The result: No evidence of joint play, even after 1,000,000 test cycles.

When designing spare parts, Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG's experts anticipate repair shop workflow, with engineering foresight. This way, they are able to integrate new features facilitating the removal and installation, such as the ball pin with 16mm wrench attachment on the HD stabiliser link.
