Standox has added a fifth module to its range of popular training courses for 2013. The Standox Genius Colour Tool is a course dedicated to effective use of this spectrophotometer tool in conjunction with the Standowin reporting software.
Jodie Henly, Standox Brand Manager says, “More bodyshops are relying on Genius to obtain the fastest and most accurate colour identification so this year we have created a stand-alone course which will teach delegates to make the most of this high-tech colour matching tool. It is capable of doing so much and we want refinishers to optimise its use.”
In addition to the practicalities of using the spectrophotometer, this one-day course covers Standowin reports and databases, stock control, colour information and much more. Delegates will also learn about calibration, care and maintenance of the Genius device itself.
The other courses on offer from Standox throughout 2013 are:
- Advanced Standohyd Refinishing – a two-day course covering advanced refinishing techniques including Micro Repair and the use of the latest Platinum clearcoats.
- Standox Colouristic – a two-day course that teaches delegates how to match and to mix metallic, pearl and xirallic colours accurately and quickly.
- Standox 3 Stage Colour – a two-day course that covers the correct process and application of special finishes such as 3 stage finishes, and demonstrates proven repair methods with practical tips.
- Standox Micro Repair – a one-day course giving delegates specialist information on the repair procedures and products required to repair vehicles successfully using the process known as SMART repair.
Standox also runs two ATA assessments courses:
- ATA Pre-Assessment - a one-day classroom-based course to prepare candidates for full ATA assessment. Candidates are able to take the online assessment and written test which, if passed, they will not have to re-take on the actual assessment day.
- ATA Senior Paint Technician assessment – these one- and two-day courses are for paint technicians who need to re-accredit before their certificate runs out, or for new applicants and those wishing to re-apply if their certificate has run out.
All courses are held at the Refinish Academy in Stevenage, Herfordshire. Full details are available at
