Start-Stop systems are changing the replacement battery landscape
Share:

Batteries for Start-Stop system vehicles are increasingly in demand in the aftermarket as the technology begins to mature. Battery specialist Manbat is meeting this rising demand with its   Numax AGM battery range.

Numax AGM batteries feature even higher cyclic stability and recharge more quickly than conventional lead-acid batteries. These characteristics are essential, especially when it comes to advanced systems which employ regenerative braking and other fuel-saving technologies.

Manbat says there is a discernible shift in the battery landscape as the number of batteries specifically designed for vehicles fitted with a Start-Stop system are beginning to have an impact in the aftermarket as sales of AGM (absorbed glass mat) and EFB (enhanced flooded battery) batteries are increasing sharply.

Although there will be no dramatic overnight change, this shift can only gain momentum, particularly as it is predicted that this year, in excess of 70% of global automotive vehicle production will incorporate a Start-Stop system and therefore necessitate the inclusion of an AGM/EFB battery.
