Technical intelligence from component supplier SWAG has identified a frequent issue with the Citroen C1.
The company says the water pump in the Citroen C1 is prone to leaking. This is largely due to the perforated steel sheet used in the original manufacturing process. A leaking pump can lead to significant engine damage, so it is important that a faulty water pump is replaced immediately.
SWAG supplies a modified water pump for the C1 (part no. 81 93 2682), which is manufactured from aluminium die casting. This makes the pump significantly stronger, which helps to prevent leakage. The company also supplies the pump with the required gasket and bolt set, saving the garage time and money on repairs.
SWAG says its water pump provides long service life and optimum performance by using OE matching quality materials. When fitting the new pump, SWAG recommends always using the bolts supplied. Torque setting for bolts is 28nM and the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications should always be followed.
SWAG also supplies a range of over 100 references for the Citroen C1, including Steering, Suspension, Rubber metal and Electrical. A full listing can be found in the SWAG Live! online catalogue at www.swag-live.com.
