The chequered flag will drop on the 2018 season of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship at the end of May and the tankpool24 Racing Team will again be a top competitors. This season will also be the fifth year in succession that Hamburg-based parts manufacturer MEYLE will be a technical cooperation partner, supplying premium-grade MEYLE spares and in-house engineering expertise.
The tankpool24 Racing team will be competing in the race for the title on eight racing weekends. This season, Steffen Faas will make his debut in the team backing up long-time racing veteran Norbert Kiss. A trained car mechanic, 35‑year old Faas took his first steps on the truck race track in 2017 following a long and successful career in motor sports. One of his many victories occurred when he claimed the title in the KTM X‑BOW Battle. He commented, “I’m extremely excited to be part of the tankpool24 Racing Team and to have in Norbert Kiss such an experienced and successful team mate. The 2018 racing season is going to be a thrilling experience for us”,
The tankpool24 Racing Team crowned the previous season with an impressive 4th place in the overall team standings of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship, while Norbert Kiss was 3rd in the overall drivers’ standings.
Throughout the season, Norbert Kiss and Steffen Faas can once again rely on the quality of the MEYLE parts and the expertise of the MEYLE engineers who will collaborate closely with the racing team. For the fifth consecutive year, the tankpool24 Racing Team will rely on MEYLE‑ORIGINAL engine mounts, rpm sensors and clutch boosters.
The racing season will be kicked off in Misano, Italy, on the 26 and 27 May 2018 followed by competitions at Hungaroring, Hungary, on 16 and 17 June 2018 and Nürburgring, Germany, on 29 June and 1 July 2018.
