With a growing trend towards matt finishes by car manufacturers, Team PR Reilly has announced the introduction of a new Glasurit Matt clear system that can reproduce these special finishes in the bodyshop.

As well as traditional hi-gloss, many vehicle manufacturers are now offering variable gloss finish levels including matt finishes and silky satins. These finishes are increasingly popular on special editions models, such as the Mercedes-Benz Grand Edition as part of its “designo” programme of exclusive customer options.

Glasurit played a vital role in the development of these special finishes at OEM level and has applied this expertise to the refinish market with the Glasurit Matt Clear System. This enables bodyshops to reproduce an infinite range of reduced gloss levels by using just two intermixable matt clears. The versatility is further enhanced as the matt clears can also be intermixed with 923-335 clearcoat to achieve the higher gloss unit level.

The Glasurit Matt Clear System is a simple, efficient solution that enables bodyshops to match any gloss level quickly, easily and accurately from the deepest matt to the softest satin finish. The finish is easy to apply and there is a useful matt swatch to aid identification of the right gloss level.

This swatch contains seven different matt shades on transparent, white and black surfaces and enables the user to identify the correct matt level directly on the damaged area of the car. With the matt level shown on the chip, the painter can easily and quickly identify the corresponding mixing formula.
