TecAlliance opens up online opportunities

With more and more business now taking place online, TecAlliance, through its TecDoc replacement parts information data arm, says it is seeing fast growth in demand for its electronic data services as businesses develop their parts sales through eBay.

“Although some in the trade may not realise it, the system that underpins the eBay platform is the TecDoc WEB SERVICES package,” says Shaun Greasley, Commercial director for TecAlliance UK and Ireland. “With this option, businesses are able to access the official supplier parts data on the TecDoc system with all the linkages to the ‘K’ type numbers to enable the correct identification of the right part for the right vehicle, but in a format that fits with their own website infrastructure.”

Shaun goes on to say, “We have developed this option with eBay and their Enterprise customers to make it as easy as possible for existing aftermarket businesses to take advantage of the opportunities the Internet provides and to allow them to make the transition from traditional to web-based trading as smooth as possible.”

Shaun also points out that online activity is not just restricted to consumer sales, as both the TecDoc CATALOG and TecRMI technical service and repair data, products specifically designed for aftermarket professionals, are web-based.
