The iconic Ford Cortina car is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year and broadcaster TG4 is marking the event with a special documentary.

The programme will take a trip down memory lane to see what made this one of Ford's most sought after cars back in the 60's, 70's and the 80's. The story follows some enthusiasts from the Cortina Owners Club of Ireland, travelling with them to Co. Cork, the home of Ford to celebrate the anniversary of this famous car.

The show “Cortina” will use a mix of archive and reality, to provide a mix of nostalgia, humour and breakdowns, looking both forward and backwards at the amazing journey the Cortina has taken in Ireland over the last 50 years.

Contributors to the show include motoring journalists Daragh Ó Tuama and Paul Drury, Rally Driver Rosemary Smith, Eddie Murphy, Chairman & Managing Director of Ford Ireland, Hazel Ford Buttimer, TV and Radio Personalities Máirtín Davy Ó Coisdealbha, Bernie Ni Fhlatharta and of energetic Members of the Ford Cortina Owners of Ireland.

The programme is set to broadcast on TG4 on Sunday 2nd December @ 21:30 and will be repeated on Monday 3rd December @ 20:00
