Toyota delivers the goods in challenging times

Stock availability continues to be a key issue in the automotive aftermarket at present but while some suppliers have struggled to satisfy demand, Toyota been able to maintain its very reliable and effective level of parts distribution throughout the challenging times we have been through.

Arthur Power, Area Sales Manager for Toyota Ireland Aftermarket, comments, “Toyota Ireland has always prided itself on its effective parts distribution and this has been brought under even great pressure by the pandemic, the global logistics difficulties and the effects of Brexit. However, through careful parts demand planning and everyone in the Toyota distribution and dealer network working together, we have been able to maintain stock availability and keep garages and bodyshops satisfied. Of course there is the odd issue, but I am pleased to say these have been relatively rare.”

Arthur points out that while there have been some serious delays to both mechanical and body repairs with some makes, because they always have the option of using genuine Toyota parts, with good availability, workshops do not have to face this issue with Toyota models. Arthur comments, “We are constantly assessing parts demand and we also anticipate which stock numbers are likely to see an increase. In this way we can maintain excellent stocks at our Dublin distribution centre, while also advising dealers on key stocks to hold.”

Arthur also praises the Toyota Dealer Parts staff for the great work they are doing in supplying garages and bodyshops. He says, “Demand for Genuine Toyota Parts from the trade is up 25% year on year and our dealers have really stepped up to meet this increase. Many are now offering two deliveries a day and because of the knowledge and expertise in the network they are also saving workshops time by making sure that the rights parts are delivered first time every time.” He adds, “Many workshops have turned to their Toyota dealer because other suppliers have struggled to supply what they need in a reasonable time. Most have been very pleased with the both the service and the prices available.”

A complete range of Toyota genuine parts is available from Toyota Dealers Parts Departments nationwide. These dealers can also offer access to the Toyota TradePro Programme which offers a range of special offers on a wide range of parts, consumables and service kits.
