Toyota has revealed the latest version of the Land Cruiser, with a design that is very much inspired by other models from its 70 year history. Toyota says that the legendary Land Cruiser DNA has been combined with new technologies to deliver higher levels of performance both off-road and in every-day use.

Toyota will open pre-sales of the new Land Cruiser for European customers in October, with first vehicle deliveries expected in the first half of 2024.

Land Cruiser heritage dates back to the “Toyota BJ”, from 1951 and it has been a vehicle used globally in the harshest environments ever since. It is one of Toyota’s best-selling Toyota models, clocking up some 11.3 million sales to date, across more than 170 countries and regions. The Land Cruiser is also hugely popular in Ireland, although it sales were greatly impacted by motor tax changes.

The new model will feature innovations such as electric power steering, a new disconnecting front anti-roll bar and a Multi-Terrain Select system which automatically adapts vehicle performance to suit the demands of different off-road driving conditions.

In Western Europe, the new Land Cruiser will be introduced with a 2.8-litre turbodiesel unit engineered for a strong balance of fuel efficiency and performance. At a later stage it will also be produced in an all-electric version.
