The Toyota Write-Off Avoidance Programme continues to gain favour with body repairers and Toyota drivers all over Ireland, with the initiative now responsible for keeping huge numbers of Toyotas on the road that might otherwise have been scrapped.

The programme was originally developed by the Toyota Ireland Aftersales team, to target category C or D write-offs. These are vehicles that are classified as an uneconomical repairs, however, where a vehicle qualifies for the programme the Toyota Dealer can offer additional parts discounts and work with the bodyshop and the insurance company to facilitate a more economical repair.

Glenn O’Reilly, Toyota Aftersales Commercial Manager comments, “The benefits of this programme are now really hitting home. Bodyshops like the fact that it is a quick and easy process and they get a repair job that otherwise may have slipped through the net.”He adds, “Customers are also delighted as they get to keep their own car and are not left out of pocket by lower than expect insurance valuation on a write off.”

Glenn also points out that all repairs use genuine Toyota parts and the quality and safety of the repair is never compromised. The programme also has environmental benefits by reducing waste.

Glenn believes the scheme is very positive for all concerned. He comments, “Through the increased support we are offering through the programme Toyota Dealers have been able to work with bodyshops and encourage insurance companies to authorise far more repairs than ever before. Everyone involved benefits and we would encourage more repairers to explore these possibilities the next time they have marginal uneconomical repair on a Toyota estimate.
