In the present health and economic environment, keeping existing vehicles on the road and staying mobile has taken on increased importance. Reflecting this, the Toyota Aftermarket team has made some key changes to it Write Off Avoidance Programme to make it even easier to keep damaged Toyotas on the road after they have been involved in an accident.

Since Toyota dealers reopened after the easing of Coronavirus restrictions in May, Toyota Ireland has streamlined the approval process for the Write Off Avoidance Programme which targets Toyota vehicles that have been in an accident and are classified as marginal uneconomical repairs. This allows the repairer, insurer and Toyota dealer to work together and use additional parts discounts on qualifying cars to have them safely repaired and keep them on the road. By making the programme even easier to access and administer, Toyota Ireland has been able to help more Toyota drivers stay mobile and provide much needed added work for bodyshops in these difficult times.

Toyota says that in most instances bodyshops across the country are getting a reply from their local Toyota Dealer within 60 minutes and in the majority of instances they can go back to their customer with the good news that their car can be repaired. This is backed  up by the statistics that show that since 2017 over 80% of applications for the Write Off Avoidance Programme have been approved.

The scheme offers significant benefits to bodyshops in terms of increased repair volume, as well as savings for the insurer. For motorists the programme is also proving to be a mobility lifeline for drivers who have been involved in an accident during these unprecedented times. Personal mobility is especially vital at present and with used car values on the rise many drivers are faced with a big financial headache if they have to replace a written off vehicle, with the shortfall between an insurance valuation and the market value of a similar car often significant. The Write Off Avoidance Programme can avoid this and get them back on the road faster, in their own car with minimal inconvenience. They also have the peace of mind of knowing that it has been repaired to high standards using genuine Toyota parts.

Repairers wishing to avail of the Toyota Write Off Avoidance Programme should contact their local Toyota Dealer Parts Department.
