Wiper blade manufacturer, TRICO, has become the original equipment manufacturer for rear wiper blades on several of the latest Volkswagens.

TRICO has developed a new design rear wiper arm and blade for a host of new Volkswagens, including the Golf Mk VIII and Estate, ID3, Arteon and Caddy, as well as two models that will be launching in the near future, the Transporter T7 and Taigo.

The Volkswagen Group was looking for a sleeker, more attractive rear arm and blade design, so TRICO’s EU engineering team set to work to create a solution. Utilising an existing beam blade structure that has been supplied to Volkswagen Audi Group for over 10 years, the new design has a more discrete connection system for improved aesthetics. The blades are manufactured in Europe using TRICO’s twin rail beam blade design and have been optimised for each vehicle to deliver prime pressure distribution and superb wipe quality.

TRICO’s Group Brand & Marketing Manager (Europe), Sam Robinson, said, “Wiper blades are such a safety critical component that manufacturers and drivers need a product they can trust, so premium quality really is paramount.  It’s a huge honour to extend further our long term partnership with VAG to supply both front and rear blades. Everyone knows the excellent quality of a Volkswagen and we are proud to be associated with such a prominent manufacturer.”

He added, “As TRICO has been manufacturing wiper blades for more than 100 years, we are confident in our engineering abilities and innovation, so we’re thrilled that Volkswagen continues to be one of many vehicle manufacturers that recognise this and trust TRICO to supply them. Naturally, this blade design will become available to our aftermarket customers to maintain our unparalleled aftermarket coverage.”
