Volkswagen issue a recall on Polo

Volkswagen Ireland is recalling a number of Volkswagen Polo 1.2 TDI Vehicles produced between 2010 and 2014 fitted with the 1.2 TDI 70bhp engine.


The recall affects 1256 Volkswagen Polo 1.2 TDI in Ireland

The reason for the recall is Quality Assurance at Volkswagen AG has found that, in isolated cases, because of the pressure pulsations in the fuel lines and the engine pulsations when driving, vibrations can be transmitted to the cover of the fuel filter. This can crack the filter cover in the area of the supply neck can lead to a fuel smell inside the vehicle and a leak of diesel fuel. There is no cause for concern and letters will be sent to owners of the affected vehicles where they will be asked to arrange an appointment to have the work completed at their authorised Volkswagen service agent. Any work carried out as part of this recall will be free of charge to the customer.
