HELLA has been awarded the 'Volkswagen Group Award 2012' for its outstanding innovations and development expertise in lighting technology.

Volkswagen praised HELLA as one of their most important business partners, whose high standards of quality and global presence always impressed. Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, CEO of Volkswagen AG, and Dr. Francisco Javier Garcia Sanz, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG with responsibility for Procurement, presented the prize to Dr. Rolf Breidenbach, CEO of HELLA, on July 18, 2012, at an awards ceremony in Copenhagen.

"We are very pleased that our work has been recognized in this way," said Dr. Rolf Breidenbach. "Products with cutting-edge technology, high quality and reliable partnerships in the automotive industry are the assets that will ensure that we continue to grow successfully."

Volkswagen hands out the 'Group Award' every year in honor of the supplier that provides the best overall service. As a lighting specialist and winner of this year's award, HELLA was praised particularly for the development and production of the Dynamic Light Assist function, which increases road safety by providing optimum road lighting. Having been deployed successfully in the Volkswagen Touareg, the system is now also being used in the new Tiguan, thus cementing its position as a mass-production product.
