With the Grand Prix season kicking off this weekend many motorsport enthusiasts will be planning trips to races in the coming months. But new figures produced by motoring Quotezone.co.uk indicate that if you want to attend an F1 race this year you will need to have money behind you.

The team at Quotezone have assessed the cost or attending various races and have come up with some interesting figures. They looked at races in continental Europe, with trips priced in sterling. The cost was worked out on the basis of; cheapest available ticket prices, flights from London and the cost of a shared 3-star hotel room.

The most budget friendly race was found to be the Belgium Grand Prix, with an average total spend of £1,343, followed by the Austrian Grand Prix (£1,448) and Dutch Grand Prix (£1,497).

At the other end of the spectrum a visit to the Italian Grand Prix weighed in £2,682, while, perhaps unsurprisingly the Monaco Grand Prix was the most expensive at £3,880.
