Last weekend the Scuderia Ferrari team completed an impressive one-two in the United States Grand Prix, when Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, finished first and second at the Circuit of The Amercias in Austin, Texas.
F1 is of course very much a team effort and this extends not just to the racing team itself, but also the teams of suppliers that provide the very latest parts and technology for the cars. One of Ferrari’s key technical partners in this is Niterra, the company behind NGK spark plugs and NGK sensors and electronics.
NGK plugs have been providing the spark for Ferrari success on the track for some three decades, helping the iconic red racing cars to no less than six drivers’ championships and eight constructors’ titles.
Ferrari and Niterra extended their successful working relationship at the start of the season, to the delight of Damien Germès, President & CEO of Niterra EMEA GmbH, Regional President EMEA and Corporate Officer of the Global Headquarters in Japan. He commented. “We are naturally delighted to be renewing our longstanding partnership with Scuderia Ferrari, a name that epitomises everything that is so exciting about Formula 1 racing. During nearly 30 years of partnership with this iconic team we have been able to develop ground-breaking ignition technologies that have directly benefitted both our OE and Aftermarket products significantly.”
As a Technical Partner to the Ferrari F1 team, Niterra puts its products through their paces in the most extreme and challenging environment possible, Grand Prix racing. The know-how attained and developed on the race course is used to develop and perfect future vehicle technologies for road going cars, while providing Ferrari with the very latest in technological innovation on the track.
