Axalta Coating Systems has announced the 2016 training course details for its three global refinish brands, Cromax, Spies Hecker and Standox.
Training takes place at the Axalta Refinish Academy in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, UK, where each brand has its own dedicated training room, mixing area and spray booth. The courses on offer this year cover all aspects of refinishing such as colour training, product training and application techniques, as well as ATA assessment training.
Kevin Welling, Training Academy Manager for Axalta Coating Systems says, "The majority of the training courses start with a theory session followed by practical training in our state-of-the-art practical work spaces. This is a wonderful facility which was designed to ensure that course participants have an excellent experience and return to their bodyshops with increased confidence and competence.”

Courses can be booked from each of the brands’ webshops, www.cromastore.co.uk, www.spiesheckerwebshop.co.uk, www.standoshop.co.uk, where course dates and more detailed information can also be found.
All three brands also offer comprehensive e-learning training programmes, consisting of eight modules which cover topics such as colour and colour tools, repair processes and techniques, health and safety in the workplace and rectification of application defects. Kevin Welling says, "Our e-learning training programmes are a fantastic way for refinishers to learn at their own pace and with minimal disruption to their work schedules. The training modules can be worked on anytime and, for refinishers only wishing to brush up on specific topics, modules can be purchased individually, so they are very efficient tools for a busy bodyshop.”
Upon successful completion of all eight modules, refinishers become e-certified and then have the opportunity to attend a hands-on assessment at the Refinish Academy to become fully certified.
For more information on any of the courses listed, refinishers can also speak to their local Cromax, Spies Hecker or Standox representatives.
