Delphi is expanding its light commercial vehicle braking range, rolling out first-to-market brake pads and discs for many of the latest vans on Irish roads.

Other first-to-market braking additions released this year by Delphi include brake pad axle sets for Ford’s Tourneo Courier and Transit Courier (November 2023 on), front brake discs for the Ford Transit 500 (April 2021 on), and rear brake pad axle sets for the Iveco eDaily (December 2022 on). The pioneering line-up also features coated brake discs for the Fiat Doblo (January 2023 on) and Mercedes Citan and T-Class (September 2021 on), alongside brake pad axle sets for the Mercedes Citan and T-Class (October 2022 on).

“Fast, reliable servicing is essential for workshops and LCV operators, especially during the busy winter months,” said Carl Lester, Global Product Line Manager at Delphi. “We’re committed to ensuring a reliable aftermarket supply of brakes, providing OE-quality replacements for even the newest vans to help operators save both time and money.”

Delphi’s brake pads are manufactured in-house to OE standards, using rigorous testing to ensure quality and performance. Many of its discs also include advanced features such as high carbon content, directional veins, and cross-drilling to match OE.

Delphi has enhanced its range of coated brake discs, a vital addition for winter months when vehicles are exposed to road salt, moisture, and dirt. The discs feature a Geomet anti-corrosion coating applied to the entire surface, including friction areas and mounting bores.

“By resisting corrosion effectively, Delphi discs maintain their braking performance longer, helping fleets stay on the road,” said Carl. “Best of all for workshops, they come ready to install with no cleaning required.”

Unlike traditional iron discs, which often require cleaning to remove protective oil coatings before installation, Delphi’s coated discs are ready to fit straight out of the box.

Independent salt spray tests underline the durability of Delphi’s Geomet discs. After 720 hours of exposure, the discs remained in better condition than some competitor products after just 24 hours, demonstrating their resilience in harsh conditions.

With around 60 part numbers in its LCV braking range, Delphi is positioned as an essential partner for workshops servicing LCVs.
