Autopaint Supplies have reported a very positive reaction to the introduction Cartec Ceramic Guard, an SiCarbon+ Coating that can add a very smooth, high-gloss and durable protective coating to car paint in one step.
Ceramic Guard strengthens and increases the hardness of the lacquer, greatly improving scratch resistance and giving the paint finish a visibly deeper shine and colour. The protective coating also offers an "easy-clean" effect with a special repellent layer. This means, for example, that insects either, will not stick, or can be easily removed, from the surface and the paint is well protected from road grime, salt, UV radiation, chemicals, acid rain and everything else that would normally reduce the paint gloss.
Tony McGowan of Autopaint says, "Everyone who has seen Ceramic Guard in action has been hugely impressed. It is easy to apply and produces a brilliant protective finish that car owners really appreciate.” Tony says that offering Ceramic Guard Coatings can be a major plus for bodyshops, valeters and detailers, helping to both keep current customers up with the latest protective technology and bring in new business.
Ceramic Guard SiCarbon+ is a new breakthrough in the field of silicon-based nano coatings which has been developed at the Cartec laboratory in the Netherlands. While most coatings use silicon oxide, in the Ceramic Guard formulation the oxide is replaced with carbon. The SiCarbon+ molecular structure created offers the advantage of better layer density, especially after curing. The carbon bonds itself between the silicon, so that Ceramic Guard can offer better protection, a smoother finish and a deeper shine.
Tony points out that although one layer is more than sufficient, Ceramic Guard can be applied in several layers to produce even more impressive results.
