Cyclops mirrors - 23,687 sales opportunities

From 1st October 2012, it is an offence to operate a HGV vehicle regardless of age over 7500kg, on the road, without a Class VI (Cyclops) mirror.

Class VI Cyclops mirrors have been required on new HGV vehicles registered since 26 January 2007. These mirrors look down across the front of a truck allowing the driver to see pedestrians, cyclists etc. below the normal line of vision. It does not apply to some lighter HGVs, as they may have lower profile cabs and generally have a clearer view of the area immediately in front. Fitting a Class VI Cyclops front mirror, has the potential to reduce fatalities and serious injuries from collisions between HGVs, cyclists and pedestrians.

Analysis of the National Vehicle Data File indicates that there are some 23,687 relevant vehicles registered before 2007. Very few vehicles registered prior to this date are equipped with Class VI mirrors and this presents Motor Factors with excellent sales opportunities.

Strongline has the universal Cyclops Mirror system in both round and rectangular styles complete with mounting arm.
