BodyshopServices.ie, a new business designed to offer independent repairers estimating and administration assistance, will go live this month. The company, which was developed by highly experience workshop manager and Glassmatix installer Tim Murphy, offers a range of specialist services to repairers who want to out-source their estimates or insurance claims administration to an experienced, professional bodyshop estimator.
Tim says, “We spent last month handling enquiries and building up a wide base of trade contacts who want to use the service.” He adds, “In June we will go live with a fully functioning website and start doing estimates and follow-up work for customers”.
It is often not economical for smaller repairers to have a Glassmatix computerised estimating system installed, but through Bodyshop Services any repairer can now provide full Glassmatix insurance estimates, either based on digital imaging or a personal inspection from Tim. Tim can also use his extensive knowledge of the system to make sure the estimate includes all the relevant times and additional costs that are allowable. This is especially important, as opinion based estimates often miss out on such costs and in many instances can mean a repair actually be carried out at a loss.
As well as estimating services, Bodyshop Services can provide a full package of equipment required for estimate imaging and also offers follow up administration services, to assist repairers with insurance claims procedure and getting paid for the jobs.
Tim’s operation has already attracted interest from lots of bodyshop operators and also the Vehicle Repairers Association. The fast growing bodyshop representative body and Bodyshop Services, are currently putting plans in place which will see services offered to VRA members at specially discounted rates.
Tim comments, “There are hundreds of repairers out there who offer an excellent standard of work, but don’t have the volume to justify a Glassmatix system.” He adds, “We believe our services can offer them a far better opportunity to compete on insurance work and to make sure they are getting what they are actually entitled to for a job.”
