Induction Innovation has highlighted a fast, efficient and safe solution to the problem of removing seized Brake Bleeder nuts using its Mini-Ductor Venom tool.

The company says removing brake bleeder nuts is often a lengthy, difficult and frustrating task. The nuts rust easily and as they are usually placed in inaccessible areas they are hard to remove.

A simple solution can be provided by the Mini-Ductor Venom handheld induction heating tool. This uses invisible heat, which heats ferrous metals as well as some non-ferrous metal, parts in seconds. This allows all types of adhesives bonded to metal, bonded with thread lock compound and seized hardware to be removed and released much quicker and more safely than by traditional naked flame heating. It also minimises the potential for damage to surrounding areas.

When a torch flame hits metal, most of its heat is blown away from the load, wasting its energy and transferring its heat to unwanted areas. With the Mini-Ductor Venom, nearly all the energy pulled is applied to the load, making the tool faster and more energy efficient than a naked flame.

The Venom’s bendable coils are ideal for hard-to-reach areas and thin enough to wrap round the nut and heat it in seconds for easy removal. Using the coil, a ¾” nut is heated red hot in around 15 seconds, as opposed to several minutes with a torch.  The heat expands the nut and breaks any corrosion bonds.

Step-By-Step Instructions for Removing a Stuck Brake Bleeder Nut provided by Induction Innovations are:
  • Step 1: Fit Correct Size Coil
  • Step 2: Bend Coil to Correct Shape
  • Step 3: Attach Coil Using Twist Lock
  • Step 4: Heat the Nut for 15-20 seconds
  • Step 5: Immediately use a selected tool to unscrew the bleeder nut, disposing of excessively heated hardware.
This process can be easily performed by any competent technician. It is recommended heat resistant gloves, overalls, goggles and a respirator mask are used for safety.
