The MEYLE stand at Automechanika attracted a great deal of attention with the debut of its latest generation of premium MEYLE Platinum Brake Discs, with UV paint finish being of special interest.
Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG introduced the latest innovation in braking with discs that feature a UV paint finish for enhanced corrosion protection while adding a long-lasting brilliance to the brake disc's appearance. The special surface also requires no oil film for protection, meaning no need to degrease before fitting. This means easier handling and quicker installation for technicians. Also most MEYLE Platinum Disc kits come with the locating screw already included. This saves repairers the extra work in ordering the screw separately and makes brake disc replacement more efficient.
The Platinum disc's improved corrosion resistance ensures extended brake disc life, while dispensing with the need for degreasing, makes the assembly a genuine pick-and-plug solution. The UV finish is also applied through an innovative environmentally friendly process, which significantly reduces energy consumption and avoids the use of solvents.
Brake discs are subject to demanding external factors including heat, salt and moisture, making utmost resistance of the coating an essential performance criterion. The MEYLE Platinum Disc's special UV finish offers a significant step up from any conventional coating and has a brake dust-repelling finish. This means that Platinum Disc not only offer superior service life but also maintain an eye-catching look. MEYLE Platinum Disc is now being phased into the complete MEYLE disc range.
Other new products and innovation being promoted on the MEYLE stand included, Platinum brake pads, an enhanced range of water pumps and a large extension of the MEYLE range for commercial vehicles.
