Figures realised by the SIMI for total new car sales in 2021 show that grey was once again the most popular new car colour with a near 35% of new car registrations. 36,594 new cars were delivered in grey out of the 104,932 registered.  This was followed by Black on 19% and Blue at 16.5%.

Compared to 2020, grey was slightly down in popularity with black and blue slightly increasing.

White and red made up the rest of the top five colours which accounted for 94% of the overall market.

The figures showed that green shades have dropped out of the top ten most popular colours altogether and now account for just 0.6% of the market. It also appears that two tone options are having relatively little impact with new car buyers.
