AkzoNobel Vehicle Refinishes is offering Sikkens and Lesonal customers an important new addition to its colour management software, with the introduction of Automatchic Smart Search. Based on the very latest in digital technology, it makes accurate colour matching easier and faster than ever and has even been designed to meet the needs of users with different levels of expertise.

George Sneddon, Regional Technical Manager Europe North, for  AkzoNobel explains, “Automatchic Smart Search is easily downloaded as a package within AkzoNobel’s Color Manager software. By simplifying and speeding up the colour selection process, as well as ensuring the best possible match, we are convinced this enhancement gives bodyshops a significant competitive advantage.”

Customers using Color Manager for digital colour matching will find Automatchic Smart Search presented as an option on the measurement screen. Its functions are easy to follow for anyone familiar with the use of a home PC. It first presents the best candidate, displaying the actual colour on screen to give a quick initial impression, while a visual match indicator evaluates the quality of the match.

Depending on their level of experience, customers can either accept the colour formula suggested or opt for an advanced selection mode in which formulations can be chosen according to a range of filters. For the real experts, there is also an opportunity to compare colour formulas.

George adds, “AkzoNobel has been a leader in spectrometric colour measurement for almost 30 years. The arrival of Automatchic Smart Search is another step in our continuing quest for improvement in colour performance. The increased colour accuracy combined with time-saving efficiency gives customers confidence in delivering an excellent finish with optimum profit.”
