Chevrolet has arrived! Following a decision to import cars directly through Chevrolet UK and Ireland rather than an importer, the iconic American brand is ready to announce its full model range for Ireland, with cars specifically tailored to suit the market's needs.

"We have a number of objectives in launching the brand in Ireland," said Chevrolet UK and Ireland Managing Director, Mark Terry. "First and foremost, we want to do it properly, by offering the right cars at the right prices for Irish customers, while at the same time providing exactly the kind of model range and aftersales support our dealer network requires of us.

"We also want to contribute further to Chevrolet's pan-European growth - it's the fastest growing mainstream car brand across Europe with over half a million sales in 2011, and the Irish market is perfectly poised to contribute its own share to this. After three very difficult years for the Irish car market, we believe there's room to grow a globally trusted brand that offers great value and quality to customers, so that's what we're setting out to provide. As the Irish economy returns to some form of stability, we're the brand that will offer buyers the educated choice - make no mistake, we're absolutely serious about the Irish car market."

Available initially, and to order now, from 10 dealers across Ireland, the Chevrolet range will ultimately be sold through a larger network - there are a number of other dealerships currently being recruited.

Six core models will be offered. The Spark city car, the Aveo supermini, the Cruze family hatchback, Cruze four-door saloon, Orlando seven-seat MPV and Captiva SUV. A Station wagon variant of the Cruze will join the line-up later, while plans are also afoot to launch the revolutionary Volt extended-range electric car.
