To celebrate its 90th anniversary Citroen has announced a range of new marketing initiatives and new models. Dealerships, promotional material and websites across Europe will be rebranded with a new image and logo and a new advertising strapline introduced - Créative Technologie. Citroen Sport is to be renamed Citroen Racing and the Citroen DS badge will be re-introduced.
The DS badge will appear on several premium models that will sell alongside Citroen's current range. The first models to appear will be the DS3, DS4 and DS5. This will be based on the equivalent C models but feature premium add-ons and revised bodywork.
Citroen dealers will probably not be jumping for joy at the thought of an expensive showroom rebrand, but might be a little more pleased at news of a new "green" model. The C-Cactus project, which was first shown at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, is a turbo diesel-electric hybrid family car, capable of nearly 70mpg and emissions of under 80g/km of CO2. It is thought that it will be 2011 or 2012 before the model hits the rebranded showrooms
