Bosch has introduced a cost efficient mobile diagnostics tool aimed at small to mid-sized workshops. The DCU 100 tablet provides and an easy entry route for garages wishing to take their first step into the comprehensive Bosch diagnostics programme.

Designed to be a durable, everyday product, the unit ensures fast diagnosis and a quick turnaround on jobs. Features include a 10-inch touchscreen, rubberised sidegrips and a rubberised collapsible stand, safeguarding from any marks on vehicles paintwork.

The DCU100 is always to hand in the workshop, thanks to features such as a high-performance lithium-ion battery capable of up to 12 hours of use on one charge. Meanwhile, wireless technology means it is not tied to one location and can be passed from technician to technician as needed. It is also built to be highly resilient, including the ability to cope with exposure to harsh chemicals and operating temperatures as low as minus-40 degrees.

Slightly larger than an A4-sized piece of paper the DCU100 weighs just 2kg.  It also has an SD slot for a memory card, speaker, a headphone jack and 2GB of on-board memory. Used in conjunction with the Bosch KTS modules, such as KTS 540 and KTS 570, which diagnose any vehicle issues, the tablet is equipped with a high-performance Bluetooth class 1 connection and two USB slots. It can also be  hooked up to an external monitor so that other technicians, or clients, can see the diagnosis.

The tablet uses the Bosch subscription-based ESI(tronic) 2.0 software, an extensive vehicle coverage database. Designed as a comprehensive knowledge platform for technicians, ESI[tronic] provides detailed information and support as electronics play an increasing role in the modern vehicle.
