Multi shop US body repair chain Erie-LaSalle Body has announced the addition of a third location in the Chicago market, with the new facility set to be  the first shop in the United States to employ the Symach repair concept.

Erie-LaSalle is a family owned and operated business founded in 1934 and is opening its new premises in the River West area of the city.  The plan is to produce 65 vehicles per week which will be fully automated with the Symach Fixline system consisting of a conveyer-type production process and 5 robots. These robots drastically reduce drying times of all substrates including body filler, primer, paint and clear lacquer guaranteeing rapid cycle times and a top class finish. In addition to the Fixline system, a dedicated ‘FixStation’ will be employed to be able to complete 3-5 smaller express repairs per day. This can offer customers a one day service against a convention 3 to 4 day lead time on traditional repair methods.

Erie-LaSalle owner Bob Gottfred commented, "We have always prided ourselves in being a leader in the latest technology in our industry, so when we decided to open another repair facility we wanted to offer our clients and insurance repair partners something better and something no one else had offered.”
