For motorbike road race enthusiasts, the new road racing season can’t come quick enough.
The 2016 calendar revs up with the first race of the season at the Tandragee 100 National Road Races on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd April 2016. Some entries already listed include William Dunlop, Ryan Farquhar and rising star Malachi Mitchell-Thomas.
Then it’s on to this year’s KDM Hire Cookstown 100 road races from April 29th and 30 where Australian Alex Pickett will make his Irish road race debut alongside all the championship contenders.
Four time World Superbike champion and North West 200 winner Carl Fogarty will be the guest of honour at this year’s Vauxhall International North West 200 organised by the Coleraine and District Motor Club. The event takes place from the 8th to the 14th of May.
The winner of the 2014 “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here” series will be recounting tales of his brilliant racing career during a special event in the paddock marquee at 8pm on Friday, May 13.
Carl will also be on the grid and in hospitality for Saturday’s races.
From there it is down South for a series of races over the summer months, the first being Kells, followed by Skerries, Walderstown, Faugheen and Armoy before returnin to the North for the Ulster Grand Prix in August. The final two rounds of the year are in Cork on August 21st and Killalane in September.
