Ford Fiesta - Concern over “faulty” buttons The owner’s manual would have confirmed that the sections, at arrows, were not buttons, but there for information

This story really is a reminder that all vehicles come with a very comprehensive owner’s manual. Apparently, many owners do not look into their car’s personal book of wisdom.

This customer had recently changed from an older Fiesta to a newer 2018 model. They were happy that their new motor had all the bells and whistles that are now quite common.

One of these additions was the on-board computer and the steering wheel controls for the audio system, these were a great asset and the new owner wanted to take full advantage of the fitment. However, he had failed to read the owners manual. He was under the impression that the buttons were not fully working. However much he pressed the buttons marked with an up and a down arrow, the control did not move.

This was, as it turned out, not a problem with the controls, but a problem with his understanding of the situation. The arrow was not a button to be pressed but purely an indication of which way the centre control should be pushed.

After showing him how the controls operated he was a little red faced, but much happier with the fully functioning controls he now had in his Fiesta.
