Following a year absence the Total Lubricants Irish Formula Vee Festival returns to Mondello Park on Saturday and Sunday July 9th and 10th.
The County Kildare Motor Club are in charge of the two day meeting with a twenty three race programme.
Promoted by the Irish Formula Vee Association, the Festival will feature five races for Ireland's most popular single seater race series, two championship rounds on Saturday followed by two Festival heats and a final on Sunday.
Total Lubricants will back the event as title sponsors for the first time and as in previous years the Vee Festival will be run in aid of charity with Laura Lynn, Ireland's Children's Hospice as the beneficiary. The event will include a barbecue and charity auction in the Mondello Park bar on Saturday night and family entertainment on both days. Admission to either day is just €10 per car with all proceeds going to Laura Lynn.
Day one of the event will see the Formula Vee Championship races completed, allowing competitors to concentrate on Sunday’s Festival Heats and Final. The Saturday programme will also include races for Procraft Tools Fiestas, BOSS Ireland and HRCA Historics.
Sunday’s programme will centre around the Total Lubricants Formula Vee Festival which will have a new format. Grid positions for heat one of the festival will be drawn from a hat and the grid will then be reversed for heat two. One point will be awarded to the winner of each heat, two for second and so on down to the final finisher. The grid for the final will be decided by points scored across the two heats, with the lowest scoring competitor taking pole position.
The busy Sunday programme will also include races for Tool Dynamics Supercars, SEAT Supercup Ireland, Procraft Tools Fiestas, Patch Tyre Equipment Fiesta STs, Teng Tools Irish Touring Car Championship, Irish Sports Cars, BOSS Ireland and micksgarage.com Future Classics.
Sunday's racing will be broadcast live by Mondello.TV and details of how you can contribute to Laura Lynn, even if not attending the event, will be included in the broadcast.
