Ford dealers Higgins Motorpark and Fred Kilmartin Ltd in Ballinasloe were recent winners in the prestigious Ford of Europe

Chairman's Awards.

General Manager of Higgins Motorpark Gerry Halloran collected the award for outstanding sales performance in 2012 on behalf of Michael Barry, while the award presented to dealer principal Teresa Kilmartin of Fred Kilmartin Ltd was in respect of customer satisfaction in aftersales. The awards were presented by Ford Ireland Chairman and Managing Director Eddie Murphy.

The Ford of Europe Chairman's Award programme is based on direct feedback from customers who have purchased a vehicle from the dealership and is in recognition of a dealer's performance in meeting those customers' expectations.  Extensive research has been carried out by Ford in assessing these expectations and providing guidelines to dealers to satisfy them.

This marks the third time that Kilmartins has won the award, while it was the second award for Higgins Motorpark.

"It's no secret that today's difficult market is putting strains on many in the retail sector, and it is fitting that we acknowledge those who are managing to maintain and improved standards of customer care in spite of this", commented Eddie Murphy, Chairman and Managing Director of Ford Ireland. "With Galway claiming two awards, Ford customers in the county are clearly in the best of hands. Congratulations go to Teresa and Gerry and their respective teams."
