Data released by satellite navigation company TomTom, has named Galway as the most congested city in Ireland.


The survey showed that 37.1% of roads in Galway were gridlocked ahead of Dublin and Limerick at 28.6% and 28.3% respectively. Other top ten traffic hotspots were Cork, Waterford and Drogheda. The survey was based on data on how fast cars travelled on a city or town's road network gathered from TomTom devices.
