In order to provide solutions for all transmission systems on the market, Team P R Reilly is offering Belt in Oil Kits which are now increasingly in demand from garages. These BIO kits are made by Dayco who originally pioneered this technology in 2007.
Dayco anticipated the requirements of the automotive market in terms of engine efficiency and environmental protection with the development of BIO technology, something that was recognised with an innovation award in 2009. The belt has led to a true revolution in the sector of synchronous transmission to make up an entire BIO system.
The Dayco design offers several major advantages in terms of; better engine performance, the ability to reduced engine size, reduced emissions, lower noise and better fuel economy. Starting from a belt able to work inside the engine, the best of belt and chain technologies have been merged.
The chain’s advantages of reduced engine size and the even more evident advantages of belt transmission have been maintained, thus resulting in, low noise level, lighter weight and thus lower inertia, reduced friction and thus notably reduced consumption, lower extension in the use period while actually maintaining the transmission synchronism, excellent combustion with all the consequent resulting benefits for the environment.
The belt forms part of a system that also includes the mechanical transmission components, special tensioners with specifically developed bearings and innovative damping systems able to generate friction as needed even in the presence of lubricating oil. Dayco is the only manufacturer supplying BIO belts for the timing transmission in standard systems.
