After an extensive tender process, Honda Motor Europe has chosen to renew its partnership with global paints and coatings supplier AkzoNobel, as one of two preferred paint partners. The five-year contract will extend the partnership between Honda and AkzoNobel to March 2019. The agreement covers the supply of products and services from the Sikkens and Lesonal brands.

Welcoming the news, Neil Read, Global Key Account Manager for AkzoNobel, said, “AkzoNobel has worked closely with Honda in some of their key markets for many years and with this contract renewal the trend is set to continue. Honda is now looking to expand its Body and Paint programme into additional European countries meaning strong partnerships with leading suppliers are more important than ever.” He added,

“With our support and passion for excellence, Honda, its dealers and its repairers can grow together with AkzoNobel to ensure the best possible quality of service and repair for customers.”

Neil says, Honda chose AkzoNobel for its exceptional product performance and network management, particularly in the area of training bodyshop personnel and that this training reinforces best practice, express repair and a ‘right first time’ approach.”

For Honda, Peter Gottschalg, European Body and Paint Manager, said, “The AkzoNobel product range is greatly respected by the industry and is delivered with a high level of support. We are very impressed by the colour matching achieved using AkzoNobel tools such as Mixit Pro, which will enable tracking and assistance of the network to maximize profit from paint.”
